Research engineer position in protein biochemistry: 12-month renewable fixed-term contract (CDD) at ENS Paris-Saclay, Gif-sur Yvette
The engineer will implement specialized techniques for the structural biochemistry of GTPases and their regulators involved in cancer and other pathologies. He will also be entrusted with the mission of “lab manager”.
Main activities
– Production and purification of recombinant proteins (heterologous production in E. coli and in insect cells – Baculovirus system)
– Biochemical and biophysical characterization of proteins
– Characterization of protein-protein and protein-membrane interactions
– Participation in structural studies
– Management of the biochemistry laboratory, stocks and orders and chromatography devices
Skills
Essential experience in the production, purification and biochemical characterization of proteins. Desired experience in structural biology of proteins and/or reconstitution of proteins in artificial membranes. Additional training in specific areas will be offered within the team.
The engineer will join the research team led by Dr. Jacqueline Cherfils, which studies the structure and the functional mechanisms of proteins that regulate cellular processes involved in pathologies (For more information see the website of the team: http://tinyurl.com/lbpa- cherfils-en).
