The Prehna Lab (https://home.cc.umanitoba.ca/~prehnag/) in the Department of Microbiology at the University of Manitoba, Canada is looking to recruit a postdoctoral fellow to study protein structure and dynamics of the type six secretion system.
The successful applicant will be expected to lead and contribute to research in structural biology and protein biochemistry, with an emphasis on membrane protein effector secretion and dynamics. The applicant will also be expected to write and publish original research articles, supervise undergraduate and graduate students, and will have the opportunity for undergraduate teaching experience if desired. The successful candidate will also be able to collaborate with local, national, and international research groups.

Qualifications
Applicants should possess or be near completion of a PhD degree in biochemistry or a related discipline. Advanced training in protein purification and structural biology (x-ray crystallography, protein NMR, or cryo-EM) is required. Opportunities are available for additional training in advanced molecular biophysics, protein biochemistry, and molecular genetics. English language skills, the ability to work in a team, willingness to learn, and good organizational skills are required.
