Dear all,

I’m looking for a talented and highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join my group in the Department of Structural
Biology at Genentech to study the function and regulation of macromolecular
assemblies important in fundamental cellular processes and human disease.

The position is available
immediately and fully funded for up to four years. The postdoc will have the unique
opportunity to work in a highly collaborative research environment on diverse
projects such as investigating T cell receptor signaling and the regulation of
kinetochore assembly and function. The postdoc will be able to independently
pursue projects and grow their expertise in X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM, with
access to state-of-the-art lab equipment, high resolution cryo-EM technology
and a virtually unlimited computer cluster for data processing.

The Department of Structural
Biology at Genentech is a scientifically rich and highly stimulating research
environment that has a strong track record in mentoring postdocs and collaborating
with other research groups at Genentech and in the academic community.

Who you are:

  • Completed or in the last year of a Ph.D. in
structural biology, biochemistry or a related field of research.
  •  Demonstrated expertise in protein
purification, biophysical characterization and structure determination by X-ray
crystallography and/or single-particle cryoEM of multi-protein complexes as
shown by a strong record of first-author publications in high quality journals.
  • Experience in protein engineering, biophysical
characterization methods for protein-protein and protein-nucleic acid
interactions, such as surface-plasmon resonance (SPR), Isothermal Titration
Calorimetry (ITC), or bio-layer interferometry (BLI) and in vitro assay
    development will be beneficial.

  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, driven to
solve complex scientific problems independently and in a collaborative
    environment.
  •  Strong oral and written communication
    skills are required.

If interested, please contact me directly (dimitrova.yoana at
gene.com) and include a copy of your CV.
