Postdoctoral Position in Structure-Function
Studies on Ion channels
A
postdoctoral position is available in the Valiyaveetil group at Oregon Health
and Science University in Portland, Oregon. The Valiyaveetil group investigates
structure and function of ion channels and transporters using a combination of structural

The group is a part of the Program in Chemical Biology in the Department
of Chemical Physiology and Biochemistry.
The
position is suitable for highly motivated candidates with a recent (less than 1
year) Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Physiology or a related
discipline. The candidate will
investigate voltage gated potassium channels using structural and functional approaches. Expertise in membrane protein biochemistry or
in structural studies using crystallography or cryoEM is desired.
The Valiyaveetil lab is well
equipped to carry out structural and functional studies of ion channels and
transporters. OHSU provides an excellent
scientific environment and world-class facilities for cryoEM. Portland is consistently rated as one of the
most livable cities in the US.
