POSTDOCTORAL POSITION – Structural Biology / Biochemistry / Medicinal Chemistry
A postdoctoral position is available at the Małopolska Centre of Biotechnology (Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Poland) within the NCN OPUS 24 project
“Targeted inhibition of the hypusination pathway”.
“Targeted inhibition of the hypusination pathway”.
Project background:
Hypusination is a unique post-translational modification of the translation factor eIF5A, essential for protein synthesis and closely linked to cancer, diabetes, malaria, and neurological disorders. The project aims to develop novel inhibitors and tool compounds
selectively modulating this pathway, with a focus on both basic mechanistic understanding and translational potential.

Requirements:
-
PhD in structural biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, biophysics, or medicinal chemistry
-
Documented research achievements (at least one first-author publication)
-
Experience in protein purification and expression (prokaryotic/eukaryotic systems)
-
Skills in one or more of the following:
X-ray crystallography / cryo-EM
Biophysical techniques (SPR, MST, HPLC, enzymatic assays)
Drug design and screening approaches
