I would like to draw your attention to a PhD opportunity in my lab focusing on understanding host glycan metabolism by the human gut microbiota. A link to the advert on findaphd.com:

There will be a focus on using the bacteria from the human gut microbiota to find novel structures in host glycans; determining the molecular drivers they use to do this and how these contribute to primary degrader status in food webs.
