Dear Colleagues,

A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Wasmuth/Olsen Lab for a highly motivated individual interested in elucidating molecular mechanisms of oncogenic nucleoprotein complexes. These issues will be addressed using a multidisciplinary approach that includes cryo-EM, and X-ray crystallography, complemented with biochemistry and cancer biology.

Successful candidates will join a vibrant scientific community and enjoy frequent access to state-of-the-art cryo-EM instrumentation including a Glacios TEM equipped with a Falcon 4 direct electron detector and Selectris energy filter that are the centerpiece of our new cryo-EM facility. Ready access to outstanding X-ray crystallography and NMR resources will also be available.

Candidates should hold a recently obtained PhD in biochemistry, chemistry, or related subject. Demonstrated expertise in cryo-EM is highly desirable, though individuals with expertise in X-ray crystallography, protein and nucleic acid chemistry, biochemistry, and/or cancer biology will also be considered. Experience with protein expression in insect and mammalian cells is a plus.

Interested candidates should e-mail a cover letter, CV, and the names of three references to: wasmuthe@uthscsa.edu
