We are looking to hire a Research Associate as soon as possible to work on our ProteinCAD protein design project, part of our ARIA-funded CADMUS project.
The post-holder will work on CADMUS, a collaborative project developing new ways to use designed proteins to organise inorganic materials. The role will focus on ProteinCAD, the computational protein-design part of the project, led by Dr James W. Murray at
Imperial College London. ProteinCAD aims to create tools that help researchers design protein structures with specified shapes, interfaces and assembly properties, so that they can be tested as programmable scaffolds for materials manufacturing.
The Research Associate will develop and apply machine-learning and structural-bioinformatics methods for protein design, with particular emphasis on modern generative approaches such as protein diffusion and flow-based models. The work will include building
computational workflows, generating and evaluating new protein designs, implementing design constraints, incorporating experimental feedback from project collaborators, and helping to improve the design process over successive project cycles. The role will
suit a researcher with a PhD, or near completion, in machine learning, structural bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science or a closely related discipline, ideally with experience of protein structure prediction, protein design, diffusion models,
flow-matching models or related generative methods.
This job is part of an Advanced Research + Invention Agency-funded
project, subject to contract negotiations.
