Dear All,
we have an open position for a post-doctoral scientist in our lab at the Faculty of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine, University of Oulu, Finland. The project is funded by the Sigrid Jusélius Foundation, and it focuses on structure-function studies on peripheral myelin proteins as well as the development of nanobody-based tools. Funding is currently available for 3 years, starting in May 2025.
A suitable candidate will have a PhD in structural biology, protein science, biophysics, or a related field, with a strong hands-on background in recombinant protein production – in preferably both prokaryotic and eukaryotic systems – and protein structural characterisation; experience with membrane proteins will be a plus. Personal qualities, including communication skills, working in an international team, supervision of younger colleagues, as well as documented examples of interdisciplinary collaboration, will be assessed as part of the evaluation. Fluency in spoken and written English is a requirement.
To apply, interested candidates should forward their CV and publication list together with a statement of motivation by email to petri.kursula@oulu.fi. Application deadline is March 31st 2025. Informal queries about the project are also welcome.
Best regards,
Petri
