Real-Time
Cryo-Electron Microscopy to Investigate Enzyme Allostery
A 4-year fully-funded PhD position (UK
home rate) is available in Wyatt
Yue’s lab at
Newcastle University (UK), under the MoSMed CDT programme, starting in Sept 2025.
This project builds on the lab’s track record in
studying metabolic enzymes and their allosteric regulation through a
combination of structural biology, biophysics, and chemical biology approaches.
The PhD candidate will apply cryo-EM and complementary methods to chart the conformational dynamics of the human
MTHFR enzyme implicated in cancer and neurological disorders.
Details of the project as well as instructions on how
to apply can be found here.
Deadline for applications: 30th March 2025.
Enquiries on the project can be emailed
to wyatt.yue@newcastle.ac.uk and thomas.mccorvie@newcastle.ac.uk
