A PhD position is available in my group at the Goethe University Frankfurt in Germany.
We work on the structural and functional characterization of the RND drug efflux pumps from pathogens. The structural analysis is done via X-ray crystallography and by using single-particle cryo-EM. Other characterization includes drug binding and drug efflux assays. We are furthermore interested in the molecular basis of inhibition by efflux pump inhibitors.
The lab is searching for candidates with knowledge of molecular biology/biochemistry, and with previous experience in protein purification and characterization of purified proteins.
Experience with handling purified membrane proteins and/or structural biology methods would be very helpful for a swift start into the project.
