Reporting a problem to CCP4

Online problem reporting and CCP4bb posting suspended

The facility to report problems or post to CCP4bb from a webform has unfortunately been suspended. This is due to technical problems with the underlying technology, and CCP4 wishes to apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause our users. We hope to be able to restore the service in the near future.

In the meantime we can still be contacted the old-fashioned way via email at the address ccp4@ccp4.ac.uk.

If you are reporting problems with using CCP4 software

Please first check the relevant problems pages. If this does not help then please send as much information as you can to help CCP4 staff identify and fix the problem - typically we will need to know the following:

• The version of CCP4 that you using
• The platform and operating system (as much detail as you can tell us)
• Whether the problem is occuring with download, installation or running the programs
• As much information about the specifics of the problem as you can give, for example:
  • In the case of installation problems, copies of the output from configure, make and make install steps if available
  • In the case of program problems, the name of the program and the full output file up to and including the error messages. Copies of scripts used to run the programs, or the CCP4i parameter files (if appropriate) are also useful.
