[ccp4bb] PostDoc at the ICR, London, UK

Dear CCP4ers,

albeit not strictly a Structural Biology post, there is an opening position in my laboratory at the ICR in London, UK. Please forward it to colleagues that might be interested in it.

Following a six-year Programme Foundation Award from Cancer Research UK and an EMBO Young Investigator Award, a postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Alessandro Vannini. We are looking for highly motivated and creative Postdoctoral Training Fellow with a strong interest in cancer biology.

This is an ideal opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic scientist to join a dynamic research team with excellent collaborators and facilities. The Postdoctoral Training Fellow will work independently and will have the opportunity to supervise students and a higher scientific officer in order to uncover the role of RNA Polymerase III in Cancer and exploit its therapeutic potential (see for example “Gouge et al., Cell 2015”).

You should possess a PhD in cell biology or related disciplines and have experience with one or more the following techniques: functional genomics via next generation sequencing, chromosome conformation capture (3C) based methods, genome editing with CRISPR, 3D cell culture and tissue culture/engineering. We are particularly seeking candidates with a background in any of the following disciplines: gene transcription, epigenetics or DNA damage and repair.

Appointment will be on Fixed Term Contract for 3 years in the first instance. The full salary scale for the post is in the range of £29,960 to £42,820 p.a. inclusive. Starting salary will be based on previous postdoctoral experience and relevance of skills.

The Vannini’s lab is part of the Division of Structural Biology and is located in Chelsea, a vibrant area in central London full of entertaining amenities.

Informal enquiries are welcome and can be made to Dr. Alessandro Vannini (alessandro.vannini@icr.ac.uk). Please note, this address is for enquiries only.
